The mountains weren't drawn to scale

One of my most favourite poem recently:

Despite what you’ve read, your sadness is not beautiful. No one will see you in the bookstore, curled up with your Bukowski, and want to save you.
Stop waiting
for a salvation that will not come from the grey-eyed boy looking for an annotated copy of Shakespeare,
for an end to your sadness in Keats.
He coughed up his lungs at 25, and flowery words cannot conceal a life barely lived.
Your life is fragile, just beginning, teetering on the violent edge of the world.
Your sadness will bury you alive, and you are the only one who can shovel your way out with hardened hands and ragged fingernails, bleeding your despair into the unforgiving earth.
Darling, you see, no heroes are coming for you. Grab your sword, and don your own armor.

I'm in my second week back at school. I'm still a little off balance but it might have something to do with the fact that I refuse to adjust.

I usually like to make things a little harder for myself, like drinking tea at night and laying awake with the stars. My lids would then droop in physics class the next day.

I guess as humans we need something to prove to ourselves we're alive, and that something is usually discontentment. Well that's the poetic side, I may be just stupid and subject myself in unnecessary discomfort.

I have a new task for my media task and it's one that requires me relaying on others. Yes. Group work. I shutter at the sight of it.

I hate being dependent.

Well it's all and fine when that person(s) you're dependent on is of equal level of dedication as yourself but that's usually not the case.

I'm hoping this time round, maybe the things will work out for once and my opinion on group work will be swayed.

Some pictures to add to my album.

Shopping with Monynna.

It has been a long time since I had a brioche. This wasn't the best which was a disappointment. Next time I visit a bakery I will definitely grab another one.
Had a small dinner in between shopping.

Late Maccas run.

I went to the Night Market at Papatoetoe and tried churros for the first time. It was amazing unhealthy, which is why I loved it. How I judge if a food is good or bad for me in based on how good it taste. Good taste = bad for me, bad taste = probably super healthy.

"Donut fillaaang, or anything of similar consistency"

Daisy had a get together for her birthday! We watched Pacific Rim. I had already seen the movie but I did not mind seeing Charlie Hunnam on screen again, not one bit.

It was a great night. I had fun freezing at the bus stop with everyone before having a massive fiesta back at her house.

Awhile back Auckland experienced heavy fog. Plane flights had to be delayed in the process. These were some shots I gathered. All I could think was how amazing it would be to have a photo shoot in this condition! But I remember I had work that day so I missed the chance to.

Cramming for a math test (TOMORROW).

Added new beanies to Five Pharaohs!

I'll leave you with a poem I wrote while musing over that fact that every thing eight year old Seryna planned out never came true.

"
I had a map in my head

except

nothing laid out right

I didn't draw the mountains to scale

I'm still trying to conquer them

I underestimated the depth of the sea

I'm still drowning in my ignorance

I thought that sky would be lower

I'm still trying to catch stars

but

where X marks the spot

that

I got right

just

in the wrong places
"

  2. Yay more lifestyle posts :)
Also, quite the contrary: I'm completely dependent. You're lucky to be accountable for yourself. And all that food is making my mouth water.
P.S. Poetic Seryna is probably the best. No joking, you even included stars this time. Instant win <3
