This week has been a wind whirl of events. I graduated high school! 2014 is coming to an end and so are many many other things. The good and the bad, but I know a closed door means an open window.
I'll try my best to recapture everything that has happened in this passing week. I know for sure I can't do everything justice but it's better to save even just a slice of it for the future.
On Tuesday I decided to present my teachers with some parting gifts. It was really cute to see someone of them get emotional because they understood how truly gratified I am for all their time and wisdom.
I even lugged around my polariod camera which as been mia since my bday. I managed to snap a few shots. I would have had more if it weren't for the fact that polaroids cost too damn expensive.
I love them as much as one heart is capable of.
Nerd club and Wagging slutz & Lemon stealing whorez
Aman and Tim really should have been in the last photo but nevermind, at least I got one with them. On the right is a group shot with our media teacher. He confessed I was part of his first ever batch of students in year 11! Perhaps that's why his class was so small, I just thought the timetables didn't distribute nicely.
Some girls I've met and have stayed in my life along the way of my journey.
A closely knitted LA group.
Shoutout to William for being my friend since the baby years of grade 7! I've never really expressed my feelings about you because I've never needed to in the past. I think we get our feelings are always mutual, but I'll take the time now to say them. I know I'll always count on you as a friend in my heart. You really are the most fun loving, never judging and friendly person I know, you've never proved it wrong, not even once over the span of 7 years. Thank you for being my friend from start to finish, thank you for always counting on me as a friend even when we don't speak everyday and thank you for always making me feel like I belong.
Wednesday was the last official day of schooling. We got to leave early and a few of us decided to gather at Chip's house for the afternoon.
We ended up eating $50 worth of fish and chips, playing charades, and sharing secrets while all squeezed on a king sized bed.
The very same night our school held an awards ceremony. I got to wear and debut our new school blazer because I helped hand out the program pamphlets. However I didn't get a good picture of myself in it...
My scholarship was announced that night so I guess it's official now!
Not very glamorous are these shots from the night but it doesn't matter, my parents look happy. It was really cute when friends' parents congratulated me, Fe's mum even gave me a hug! It was good to seen last year's graduates faces there for support.
Everyone was in a really euphorical mood that night, minus the emotional fews who might have shed a tear or two. In the spirit of the event, we decided that why not spend the night shooting fireworks on the very Guy Fawk's day. We drove to the highest house of our friends and began our public disturbance.
It was a wonderful way to celebrate our achievements, friendship and the end of a chapter.
The next day was spent slaving away at school trying to organise the leavers' brunch. Ironing table cloths proved to be more difficult that it sound. Some of the helpers were kind enough to buy everyone lunch. Then most of them dispersed in the late afternoon. Daisy, Fe and I didn't leave until around 5... School is out and we still spend more hours there than a normal school day.
Cut to today, we had our leavers' brunch! It was a great event where everyone got to spend time collectively together for one last time. I'm glad it didn't get too emotional because I really hate crying. I'm also glad people got a chance to express their appreciation for the teachers and each other.
There are plenty more photos but one of our photographer forgot to give us the sd card so I think it will be some time before we will get our hands on them.
Now time for iphone photos. Yay for bad quality...
Est. 09! I honestly love love love these guys. The thought of not seeing them 5 times a week makes me weak at the knees. Who will provide my daily comedic performances???
These photos weren't so bad because we caught good lighting and someone turned on the HD setting on my camera (the morph did something to Daisy's forehead though...).
Wonderful people ♥
These photos were in direct lighting not using the HD setting. I find that photos turn out good when you take in a brightly lid room where the light bounces off the walls and floor to eliminate the room. Taking photos in direct lighting (where you face a strong source of light) turn out rather harsh....
Water girls, MHJC represent.
Horrible lighting...but this was a great angle Fe caught.
Selfie game weak today.
Some momentum.
It has been a pleasure working beside the other leaders making things happen around the school.
Monynna the sweet girl bought me flowers and wrote me a parting letter ♥ Definitely my favourite year 12 for sure and I will support her in her final year of high school next year. You'll find me in the crowd on her award ceremony night.
Never thought I'd ever receive one of these necklaces! For those who aren't familiar with this culture, these are generally given to students who go up for awards by their relatives or close friends. Normally it's done by Pacific Islanders, and myself am not one so I never really imagined myself getting one. My wonderful learning adviser surprised me with it on the awards night (along with his basketball group). I'm really going to miss all his playful mockeries and genuinely helpful life lessons. I think everyone who has been apart of his LA group should feel very honoured. The year 12 we leave behind definitely know his worth and are heart broken he won't be their LA next year since he'll be the LA for the Pacific Islander students of our school. I feel quite blessed having him for 3 years.
I want to thank my trustworthy school bag, he has been with him through everything and put up with my shit for some time now. One of his straps has almost given out. You've lead a good life little buddy. Thanks for everything.
The polaroid on the left there is of my LA group. I'm going to miss everyone so much. All the mischief we got up to that other LA groups never got the chance too, surely we count ourselves lucky for a supportive figure like Mr T who also double as a friend, and the friends who double as family. The middle lays my invitation for the leavers' brunch. This will find its way to my cork board of memories.
