This is a lot different from my usual posts but that can be refreshing. One can only stand to spectate the evolution of "selfie queen" for so long. Here is your well deserved break.
This post will be focusing on places that make me sure I have the bugs of a wonder luster. I promise you, these are places I've fallen in love with through articles, photographs, films, books and word-of-mouth for non-consumerism reasoning (well aside from one or two).
These are places I would be an absolute sponge in, absorbing the culture and heritage. From Architecture, to food, to music, and to the way of life. That's right, not for fashion purposes hah (again, aside from one or two).
Let's get into it. Not in any particular order, except the first few which will be cities I desperately need to visit (I'm talking about crumpling to the ground every time I see pictures of them, tears may or may not be involved...).

Reasons to go; gondola, pizza, cozy ambiance.
Number one of my list, every time. I just find every thing so charming. The canals and the brick housing are the number one star in my eyes. I love Italian food, I just know I'll love it even more eating real Italian food.

Reasons to go; seaside view, Grecian food, history (especially their myths) and their blue accented buildings.
I will be admit, this obsession came about after I read the Sisterhood of the travelling pants trilogy. Percy Jackson was what got me into the Greek Mythology from a young age.

Reasons to go; Germany's amazing architecture.
This picture I used is probably not the best to sum up Berlin but their Rococo buildings are what won me over in a heart beat, over their city's skyscrapers. I don't know if the Norse Gods mythologies are a big thing in Germany but I'd love to find out.

Reasons to go; beaches, floating huts, lagoon, sunshine and killer scenery.
I will not complain for Fiji or Hawaii either. Have you seen Lilo and Stitch? I feel like I will soak up the experience like that man who always drop his ice cream (yes I am aware that was in Hawaii).

Reasons to go: canal houses and Anne Frank's house.
Another destination inspired from a book, The fault in our stars. I will read Anne's diary one day.
(source)
Reasons to go; French pastry, the Eiffel tower, the love thickened air and...yeah...shopping.
Much much over done on so many bucket lists but it's one of the fashion capitals, you can't expect me to not long for such a place.
(source)
Reasons to go; Big Ben, the Buckingham Palace, The Old Bailey and the citizen's accent.
I will definitely lap up the sound of the English accent, or any other accents that happens to be there. What convinced me was in fact the film V for Vendetta. Hey what if England is turned into a communist country??? I want to see The Old Bailey before she's blown up. Plus, it's another fashion capital.

Reasons to go; Disneyland, Golden Gate bridge and the golden coast.
I would absolutely be overjoyed if I could step foot inside THE Disneyland Walt Disney himself supervised the creation of. I don't know about the shopping culture there but knowing America I'm sure it'll be a 10/10.

Reasons to go: Crazy amazing modern architecture.
I don't know much about the place but what I do know for sure is their name is exotic, they have the best hotels and their ingenuitive city/building structure looks like a made up lego land, but industrial.

Reasons to go; live music, beaches, Christ the Redeemer statue and hopeful during the time of a parade at Sambadrome.
Not going to lie...Fast and Furious 5 was what installed this lust.

Reasons to go; Gothic cathedrals, shopping, The last supper and again, Italian cuisine.
Surprised surprised that I mentioned two Italian cities. Their cathedrals are so beautiful. I really want to see stained glass windows that date back centuries. I just have a weird fascinated with the country in general. Venice is my first pick most definitely but Milan comes straight after for being one of the fashion capitals. However I will still happily settle for any other cities. Contemplating on whether or not I should put Rome down as the third Italian city I mention...

Reasons to go; authentic Japanese sushi and ramen (priorities, I've got them straight), cosplayers, bright city lights, adorable school uniform, blossom trees and crazy (and I'm talking imaginative all the way to down right loopy) inventions/products.
First Asian city I'm mentioning (only because I'm from Asia, there's not much of it that leaves me wondering). Tokyo is far from the life style of South-East Asian (my origins) and thus why it intrigues me. I think I will enjoy eyeballing all that is cute in the land of Tokyo. Oh and the ramen fantasy developed from the days I used to watch Naruto.

Reasons to go: Time square, Statue of Liberty, Manhattan pizza and shopping.
I'll be honest, this city much swayed me with its retailer stores. How can I list three other fashion capitals without the fourth? This is by far the city that I value most for consumerism reasoning. Even though I know the New Yorkers are rude, I still very much want to go. Whenever I walk down Central Auckland, I love the feelings of being surrounded by other bustling Aucklanders. I like to think New York is the same but 10 times the fold.
These are my top 13 but there are about a thousand other places I would love to visit like Rome, Seoul, New Delhi, Suva, Ottawa, Sydney, Shanghai and Morocco.
I hope you guys enjoyed these beautiful pictures as much as I did ♥
Tell me, have you ever been to any of these places and what were your experiences?

I adored this post, a nice change from the usual! Those are all such lovely destinations, I have been to a few of these places but I was very young so I don't remember much (unfortunately) I really feel the need to get out of the country especially after seeing all of those beautiful pictures! <3
ReplyDeleteOne word. Yes.
ReplyDeleteYou pretty much know how I feel about all your posts, and that's on the edge of awesome. You're right, Europe does seem very cultural in terms of art, ambience, history and food. Maybe for the style aspect, but also London. I think Japan would be the most fun in terms of quirky culture. :3 Your extensive list is great, there's lots of ambition here. Here's wishing to more travelling! x
I've already been to Berlin, Amsterdam, London and Paris! Faves: Berlin & London. But I'd love to visit every other city on your post!

Yay for travel posts! <3
ReplyDeleteI've been to all of the mentioned destinations with the exception of America, Tahiti and Brazil. All of them are great picks! My favourite destination to go to remains Greece, though I gravitate towards its less touristically spoilt spots, and oh, Greek food, I just love it!
Venice was even better than I expected, it felt like being inside of a painting, really my favourite Italian city. :)
I hope you'll be able to visit all of these places soon
