Musing | Missing Home

A little cloud action because one can't travel over seas without a shot outside the airplane window.

With exams right around the corner (the real deal, not the mock exams) school isn't a playground anymore. I can't help but anticipate the end which is strange because I thought I'd be one to cherish these youthful years, or months really, that I have left. But I realise the future holds more exciting things and even though the thought of responsibilities is daunting, I think I'm up for the challenge. I mean I voted today for the first time so it's just baby steps into adulthood from here on out.

Besides, everyone knows if you live at home while going to uni, you still have one foot in and out of the real world. I get the best of both worlds that way. I don't have to pay no electricity bills, but I still get the freedom to do unsupervised things, like making important trips to fast food chains whenever I please.

I guess I've been blessed with many good things recently that makes me wish for tomorrow to come. Like mentioned in my last posts I'm travelling back to my motherland PLUS another self-discovery-teen-to-adult-hood trip. Eeeeeeeeeeeeep.

I've been keeping another secret to myself for awhile. Well not a secret secret because some people already know. I wasn't trying to conceal it but I just wasn't advertising it yet either. Without more interruptions: I GOT A FRICKIN SCHOLARSHIP. A full three years ride in a bachelor program of my choice! All I want to do is shout it from the roof top but it wouldn't be very tasteful. I've been wanting to talk about it on this blog so bad because this is my space and I want to highlight things I'm proud of. I think it's the perfect time to write this down now because I need to remind myself, life is a balance. With all these good things happening in my life, something bad was bound to come my way and it did. I just need to remember that the trade is one I'm happy with. For the little spec on my wind shield, I know I'm still going to end up in my little paradise (literally and metaphorically).

While I'm looking forward to my family Christmas trip to Cambodia, in the mean time I'm looking back at old photos, like the ones from my 2011 Cambodia trip. Until my next post enjoy some oldies with me (not all from the Cambodia trip).
A little fun with water colours.

Taken one or two years ago. Apparently stripes are the rave atm.

Could possibly fit in on a tumblr aesthetic blog. Don't even front with 15 year old Seryna.

When I was 14 or 15. I would definitely still wear that jumper if I still had it. Not the shorts though. Fake wrinkled denim print is a disgraceful human invention.

Could possibly fit in on a healthy eating tumblr blog. #diet #vegan

A little smoke action at Daisy's some centuries ago.

Pit stop in Singapore before transiting to Cambodia. We were doing a tour on a boat when this photo was taken.

View from my aunt's apartment/hotel complex. Back then I remember thinking my city was nothing to be proud of. Cramped buildings and dust, oh god the dust, everywhere. However looking back now I miss that place. The pastel palette is cuter than any pale grunge blog I'll see.

Beautiful lotuses we bought as an offering in prayer at Oudong Mountain.

What's the point of a warm country if you don't go to the beach?

And of course, our iconic Angkor Wat. Thailand and Vietnam can try to claim it all they want but we all know who really owns it. Hint: not them.
