Really for round two? Here's my snaps from Switzerland. Mother Nature's own snow globe.
*I booked the "Winter Express" tour with Top Deck*
Day 3 & 4
The drive to Switzerland. As you can see here, no snow in sight - yet.
Just this much snow made me pretty excited. Wait till I actually got into Switzerland.
Sneeeew?!?!?!
Now we're talking.
Where's the ground??? Just snow.
I learnt my lesson from France and came to Switzerland prepared. I even wore double pants. Yeah I still didn't know how to dress warm but still look...like I'm not unable to pair article of clothing.
An adorable dog disobeying their owner and running off.
Bye doggie.
So BEAUTIFUL!
I forgot to take a picture of one van that I saw with almost 1 meter snow piled on top.
Daisy wasn't feeling well on this day due to a fever so she spent the morning in bed. Danielle and I were starving because we went to breakfast too late and only had cereal. We decided to walk into town to grab a second breakfast at a cafe.
That's Danielle on the far left. Rahilla, Becky and Michelle (the person taking the photo) came along too.
It was very cosy and it had free wifi. Score.
Danielle and I walked back to the cabins to check if Daisy wanted to come have lunch. As you would imagine, we just had breakfast (brunch), so we had some time to kill before leaving. We came across Brian who said he felt like building a snowman. I asked him to wait up for us to throw some of our clothes into the wash, so that we can join him.
Pre-snowman-building stretching. Jk.
Before the actually snowman part, we got into a snow ball fight. Things got pretty intense when we struck war with the guide from another Top Deck tour (they're doing the same countries as us, plus more, so a longer trip). Smack talking is confirmed to have been exchanged.
Our finished creation! We named him Phillip. If you can't tell, we were really proud. For my first snowman, I gotta say, he's pretty adorable.
He's a pretty chill guy.
*gets hit for that pun*
Me and Goeun.
Danielle insisted on writing "free hugs". Turns out we built him on a road... We picked the location because it had the thinnest layer of snow on the ground, but it was thin for a reason. Ops. After we came back to lunch I found tire marks going around Phillip. Good thing to know people have the heart not to murder a snowman in cold blood. *gets hit again for another pun*
What's an Asian tourist without a peace sign? This was on the walk to lunch.
The burger was sooooo good. They gave me three dipping sauce, which I all love. Yeah, it was really stressful deciding which one to dip into each time I picked up another fry.
How cozy and cute does the place look? The answer is very.
We came across Becky, Michelle and Rahilla again. They asked us where to eat lunch and we recommended the place we had just come from and they said we could borrow their rented sledges since they would be unused anyways while they ate. We gladly took them for a spin. This was my first time sledging! I did a lot of firsts in Switzerland. Soon we were joined by more people from our tour.
We eventually made our way back to check on our laundry. After which we decided to go exploring.
Failed snow angels.
Rear photos from Daisy and I.
Sometimes we were walking in snow up to our knees. Yes it was cold. Yes it was worth it.
When we got back to base I found a group of people rolling snowballs. Obviously we offered a lending hand and together we built a magnificently giant snow-woman! Look at her, she's taller than me??? I forgot what we named her but it was something fabulous.
Then came dinner! Our starter was a cheese fondue.
The next morning we packed up to leave.
I bought these chips, not expecting actual tomato pieces inside??? But I'm all for tangy/salty stuff so it was pretty nice.
Goodbye beautiful snow mountains.
