My business group set up a stall at the new Saturday market happening weekly at my school. It's to fund raise for our young enterprise scheme project. It didn't go as well as we had hoped but we still broke even with the cupcakes and made more than 100% profit, it was just the other aspects that didn't go so well.
We ran out of vanilla the fastest.
Group shot: Shakira, me, Sue and Shrestha (minus Evaan). Note how our names all start with "s".
Strawberry cupcakes.
Saw so many fluff balls that day! Made me quite sad though. I might as well tell my readers now that I've had to let Romeo go. It sadden me to loose him but I know he's with a better family now and I still get visiting rights. Things just didn't go well at my house with him, namely one family member was not cooperative.
I promise myself that when I'm wrinkled and crisp, I'll mold myself in dodgy dog lady.
My parents and cousin picked my up afterwards and we went out to lunch.
The day wasn't done and next on the list was a birthday bqq. I knew no one there but it was a family/friends function. I sat eating chicken, drinking Lift and playing Candy crush most of the time when I wasn't making polite conversation with strangers.
My make-up for the bqq.My outfit.
I hate these functions because of the drunk men howling in the background and making a fool of themselves. Quite obnoxious but what can I do? "Erm I'm kidda in the middle of not listening to tomatoes act like trolls so if you like, not, that'll be great". Besides it's a party so they have a right to chuck on the Heinekens. I just would prefer not going to such parties, too bad mum reckons I need to mingle with more Khmer elders to stay in touch with my roots. Root or root beer? I don't mind going to temple and such, it's an environment with elders minus the drunks.
One of the drunkest man grabbed Johnny and was convinced he was his mates and steered Johnny around asking people if they knew him. It was quite hilarious because Johnny was pretty much their height so I suppose I can understand a drunk man's error.
The cakes so delicious! I'm surprised how it didn't go as well. Pretty girls and yummy cakes, what else could you want?! And it's a shame about your dog too! :( At least they are with a better suited family now! :))) Very thoughtful of you!! Don't be too sad! <3
ReplyDeleteOoh, the cakes look super cute! Good job - I would definitely buy something from your stall if I passed! ^^
ReplyDeleteOh, too bad about Romeo... My parents gave away one of our dogs when I was little because he kept jumping on us, but I wanted to keep him... ;(

Oooh, I can't believe you had to give up Romeo, it's so sad :( Better not getting a dog at all than having it for sometime and then having to part from that cutie puffball :( At least you know he's okay where he is and you can still visit <3
ReplyDeleteOutfit looks great, you're so skinny *burns with envy*
In Italy no one would get drunk in friends/family reunions and such, but having been in India for sometime I've seen it's actually quite common -not to mention awkward and ridiculous-
